Departure from Marrakech at the scheduled time, to reach the High Atlas, in particular we will cross the highest pass, called ‘Tizi n Tichka’, here we will make a stop to take pictures of the landscape, characterized by small mountains, valleys and small rivers, which vary according to the season. We then continue towards the village of Ait Ben Haddou, an ancient fortification that is not very inhabited today, but which can be admired inside. Here we will stop for lunch in one of the local restaurants available and then visit the Ksar. We will continue the journey passing through several citadels including Kelaat Megouna, famous for the Rose Festival which is celebrated in May, Tinghir, where we will make small stops for the view, and finally Boumalne Dades, where we will stay overnight and dine in a traditional Riad which will overlook in the Dades valley.
DAY 2: Dades Valley – Todgha Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga (260km)
After a hearty traditional breakfast, we will continue our journey passing through the Dades valley, a very fascinating on the road. Arriving, between Berber villages and valleys, at the Todgha Gorges. Here we will be able to walk along the grand canyon and then resume the journey to get to Erfoud, the city of fossils and the Date Festival which is celebrated in October. We will stop for lunch in a local restaurant, before continuing towards the dunes, now close. Once in Merzouga we will leave the car to head with the dromedaries towards the high dunes of Erg Chebbi, and admire the breathtaking sunset. Always with the dromedaries we will head towards the tented camp where we will stay overnight and have dinner, with a small musical show after dinner.
